Due to Greek capital controls enforced since June 2015, we are not permitted to accept cards (debt / credit) from Greek Banking Institutions. Until the capital control restrictions are raised you can only use wire transfer or non Greek cards.
Can I lock my card?
Yes you can lock and unlock your card at anytime to protect it from being missused or any other reason you deem important. You can do this directly though the Excelon App.
What happens if a cardholder’s card is lost or stolen?
Cardholders are required to report as soon as possible when they understand that theri card may be stolen or lost. They can do it directly through the Excelon App or Internet Service. They can contact the call center and request a new card. The cardholder’s card will then be cancelled and a replacement card will be sent to them subject to a replacement fee stated in the terms and conditions.
Is there a limit as to how many Prepaid Cards customers can have?
Yes. If you haven’t verified your first Excelon Mastercard, you can only own 1 card If you verify your first Excelon Mastercard, you can own 3 additional cards (4 total) with the increased limits that the verified cards provide.
What process do cardholders follow once they receive their Prepaid Card?
Upon receipt of a Prepaid Card, cardholders must sign the back of the card in the box highlighted “authorized signature” and then activate their card as per the instructions provided in the welcome pack. Cards must be activated through a website before cardholders can access their funds or load funds onto their Prepaid Card.
When applying for a Prepaid Card, are customers required to sign an agreement or accept any terms and conditions?
Upon application all applicants must read and accept the terms and conditions of the card program. These terms and conditions are approved by the issuing bank.
How do Prepaid Cards work?
Excelon Prepaid Mastercard cards operate on the standard Mastercard networks. The Excelon Prepaid Mastercard Card can be used like any credit or debit card. The prepaid value loaded on the card can be used by cardholders at participating retail merchant locations for purchases and ATM’s worldwide for withdrawals. Funds will be immediately debited from the cardholders balance upon authorization of any transaction. Purchases or cash withdrawals are deducted from the balance until the loaded value is spent. When you purchase an Excelon prepaid card online your card can be loaded to a maximum of 2500€. If you wish to increase this limit you can do so by verifying your data (ID, Address and Photo).
